pavilion befits a prince of the Port. In this house you find
detailing that would send Julia Morgan over the moon.
One literally imagines the moon or sun appearing during
its sky-borne journey just above the fantastic Baroque
principal entrance façade at its flattened apogee. Rancho
Dos Vidas would satisfy a Spanish grandee, perhaps the
one for whom Lutyens produced an unrealized design.
The massing of Dos Vidas' buildings is near perfect.
