M
ost importantly, the food
is ingenious, in correct portions,
comprising clever components
challenging taste buds, often
releasing sensations rapid fire,
one after the other, in one bite!
Yet, mercifully, the entire glorious
experience of consuming one
course after another bears little
resemblance to the heavy fare
that often characterized menus
at Schonbrunn.
To describe what you experience
at 11 Madison as a tasting menu
is accurate in the sense that you
taste numerous foods, but falls
far short: 11 Madison is a three
and a half hour journey in time to
a place where excellence is the
mantra. One comes away from
the meal feeling that everything
is possible. Dining within that
hall is a singular experience. It
is best to leave everything one
thinks about what an excellent
restaurant is at the coat check
and enter and immerse yourself
in the singular zone that is Eleven
Madison.
