the golden wood paneled doors, fire surround and ceiling
cornice. The capacious deep armchairs are covered in
a rose on rose damask, while the couch bears a bold
stripe. A fauteuil is upholstered in a rich rose floral, almost
paisley in character. All the upholstery is notable for its
finely matched trim: a long fringe on the couch in lieu of
a skirt, nail head accents on the fauteuil. The upholsterer
engaged here typically is commissioned for museum and
