The library is the successful
implantation of a dark wood
paneled narrow enclosure
within the wide-open space
of this former loft. I am
reminded of the main reading
room of Columbia University
Libraries, with its double
height shelves and catwalk.
Here, many feet of books
unfold; this is a household of
readers. The only difference
between this library and that
of any venerable university is
the presence of oversized pink
chaises longues; any weary
student would appreciate
these!
The kitchen returns to pure
white and stainless steel, a
plain, geometrical almost
Bauhaus-like configuration
of sparkling cabinets and
central island in the form of
HYLAND
