Charles Edward Devers of Millbrook
There is style and elegance attached to the Sandanona
Harehounds. The Beaglers, as the members are called,
as distinct from their canine charges, the Beagles, often
wear purpose made jackets in dark green with yellow
collars and shiny brass buttons. This attire serves a
practical purpose in the field, where for hours on end,
the Beaglers criss-cross the Millbrook hunt country
afoot, all the while glimpsing the far mountains and
continuing a tradition that has its origins in survival…
until End of day, the "long rising and falling note on the
horn is played by the huntsman..."
A story well remembered and well understood, yet also
a story that continues to evolve. H
