Dr. Micol Forti, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Vatican Museums
earlier suggested that new photographic exhibitions be
inaugurated at the Vatican Museums and so a meeting
was arranged to consider that request. At our meeting Dr.
Forti presented to me a proposal for such an exhibition,
comprising several photographers: the proposal and
the meeting to discuss it are direct consequences of
the Hyland Triptych donation. As is often the case, a
single gesture serves as catalyst. Managing Director of
the Vatican Museums, Monsignor Paolo Nicolini, both in
a meeting within his conference room and in subsequent
emails, is actively pursuing a vehicle for exhibition of the
triptych. Both he and Dr. Forti exude enthusiasm.
