The living room is double height, with lacquered
beams stretched above serving also as platform for
a transparent catwalk leading to the double doors
that open onto the bedrooms. The living room itself
features a bold circular seating arrangement, a round
enclave of low couches and club chairs in beige
leather or mohair velvet. The couches and chairs are
capacious yet angular in form, reminiscent of Pierre
Chareaus designs, between 1928 and 1932, for the
Maison de Verre in Paris. (Indeed, the double height,
gridded windows may have suggested Chareau as an
apt inspiration for the design of this apartment.)
