restored by conservator Julia Brennan. It is now placed in a uniquely designed cabinet with light and mirrors that enable the visitor to admire the robe both front and back. The robe is displayed at a slant to relieve stress on the fabric. The golden robe is noted as the single most valuable artifact preserved from the Golden Era of Denmark in Thailand during the reign of Rma V King Chulalongkorn at the turn of the 19th century. In its new state of the art setting at the Nicolie, the robe is now admired by Thais and Danes alike, a precious memento of the friendship between the two countriesand between a King and a Captain.
