restored by conservator Julia Brennan. It is now placed
in a uniquely designed cabinet with light and mirrors
that enable the visitor to admire the robe both front and
back. The robe is displayed at a slant to relieve stress
on the fabric.
The golden robe is noted as the single most valuable
artifact preserved from the Golden Era of Denmark in
Thailand during the reign of Rma V King Chulalongkorn
at the turn of the 19th century. In its new state of the art
setting at the Nicolie, the robe is now admired by Thais
and Danes alike, a precious memento of the friendship
between the two countries���and between a King and
a Captain. H
