Black Rose Halsman. His course was titled Psychological Portraiture, the central tenet of which was that if you have not captured the inner life of your subject than you have failed. Mr. Halsman���s words hung in the balance in my formative years; now this is integral to my process. I also learned to how to light from Halsman. The exposure to this magnificent man set me on my trajectory. HYLAND
