to take my subjects. And everyone must have ownership of their
session when they arrive, so meeting beforehand ensures that.
Then we can just say hello and get to
work. Otherwise their anxiety and fear
spoil everything.
For my private client and family
commissions, it is very much about
fostering trust, and determining what
or whom holds importance in their
lives. This opens up wonderful visual
possibilities and the inclusion of objet
trouv��s and favorite companions. Many
an attractive dog or cat has become a
perfect co-star.
For my arts and entertainment subjects,
I program custom soundtracks for
everyone���s sessions, choosing songs that
have been essential to the person���s life
and their musical lineage, and in an
ascending mood which matches where
we are going aesthetically. I never let
singers or musicians listen to their own
music, especially if they are fresh out of
the studio with a recording, as they are
still ���listening��� and their focus on it will
prevent me from transporting them.
And that is the goal.
