I learned that, out of necessity, Fairview Farm had developed
its own retail farm stand; it became increasingly difficult
for the farm to compete with much larger midwestern
operations. Although many residents of the Hamptons
prefer land reserves, this vibrant farm contributes much
to the viability of the area as a community preserving a
link to its agricultural past.
Al though the Ludlows occupy the east end's most
valuable real estate Harry and his family chose to sustain
their connection to the land, affirming their purpose in life.
