O
f this scintillating Central Park West apartment,
design team Carl D'Aquino and architect Francine
Monaco proclaim: "Although each room is unique and
has its own identity, the apartment is brought together
by a whimsical dialogue between art and design." The
owners sought a setting for their collection of modern
paintings and sculptural artworks that would constitute
"memorable rooms." The result is a seamless continuum
of art, furniture and architectural detail, grounded in the
aerodynamic aesthetic of Italy mid-century, the Italy of
Carlo Mollino, Piero Fornasetti and Gio Ponti.
