R
ecently, a friend and I were discussing
the legacies of great designers who had passed away
and I lamented that the very gifted Greg Jordan—dead
long before his time—would not be as renowned as his
colleagues: his firm closed soon after his death.
That same weekend I had the unexpected pleasure of
meeting Christopher Hyland, another of Greg Jordan's
admirers. At a mutual friend's house in the Hamptons,
I shared with him details of my loving friendship with
Greg, our experience working together and many
colorful stories of our antiquing and design escapades. I
invited Christopher to visit the house that Greg and I had
conceived before my husband and I had even purchased
the land where it now stands.
It is always a pleasure for me to share my house with
guests, for everyone who walks through it immediately
feels its understated elegance and warmth. So enthusiastic
was Christopher that before I had even greeted him, he
was off and running, camera in tow!
