Elizabeth brought the
blockbuster exhibition,
Tides of Provincetown
to the Cape Cod
Museum of Art; the
exhibition
chronicles
the one hundred years
of
Americas
most
important and oldest
summer art colony.
The
colorful
walls
symbolically represent
the intellectual warmth
and inclusiveness of
the Provincetown story,
resulting in such an
ongoing,
remarkable
outpouring of artistic
achievement. Elizabeth
and Robert have been
part of that story for well
over sixty years.
William Paxtons portrait of
the Italian Girl which hangs
in the dining room. The tray
under the coffee urn was a
gift to Paxtons father-in-law,
a homeopathic physician, by
Robert Hale Ives, uncle of
Robert Hale Ives Gammell.
