its great outdoors. The house itselfand this comes
as a surprise given the Eastern mood of the interior
is low and grey
shingled,
pierced
with mullioned sash
windows. The back
patio surrounding the
pool is simply paved,
in brick. Groups of
traditional outdoor
furniture in rustic
wood are cushioned
in pale colorswhite
duck seat cushions
and throw pillows
in pale pink and
blue. For outdoor
cooking there is a
massive, splendid
stove in stainless
steel. Two giant
metal
sculptures
resembling the jacks
little girls play with
are perched by the
pool.
The powder room, well stocked with snowy white towels,
is painted the soothing deep blue of Morocco. Above
a wooden bench stacked with linens rise two outsized
mysterious blooms.
