The Mews Restaurant and Cafe
429 Commercial Street
Provincetown, MA
508-487-1500
In Provincetowns arty East End, The Mews takes its cue from the surrounding galleries, presenting artful dishes, accompanied by a breathtaking view of Cape Cod Bay and MacMillan Wharf. Upstairs is a neat
bar area with the largest selection of vodkaabout 300 brandsyou
are likely to see anywhere. The downstairs dining room sits right on
the beach. For starters, you can try chef Laurence deFreitass lobster
dumplings in a miso broth or a scallion pancake with smoked duck
breast. Entrees include Veal Chop Scarpata, garnished with hot Italian sausage, pepperoncini, and mushrooms in a white wine sauce and
served with a lentil ragout. Almond Crusted Cod features a citrus
beurre blanc and is served with horseradish mashed potatoes. Desserts include Jamaican Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, fruit cobblers
and Key Lime Pie, among others.
