A selection of images of these houses, randomly taken, all
located along historic Route 6, in the towns of Barnstable
(also the county seat of the same name) and Dennis, is
found on these pages. Serving for generations as the
principal artery on the Cape, Route 6 is, for much of the
way, a narrow, winding two-lane road with high ancient
trees and granite mileposts.
These houses are reasonably scaled, generally with low
ceilings, often surrounded by dense shrubbery and high
