in the family room hangs Enneking���s Cathedral Ledge
in the White Mountains. Charles H. Davis is above the
television and Aubrey Beardsley on a wall nearby. In a
nod to the worldly artists of New England, who were
able to venture forth in substantial numbers after the Civil
War, due to improved transportation, there is a Gammell
copy of Veronese from the Uffizi and prints by Hiroshige
and Hokusai on either side of the front door.
My three favorite items in the house comprise every
