Provincetown was now a nationally known destination for collectors drawn to modernism. In their essay, The Tirca Karlis Gallery: Pivotal Decades of Provincetown Art, Julie Heller and Whitney Smith convey the diversity and energy of both the era and Tirca herself. She represented a broad spectrum of creative energy as demonstrated in the benefit exhibition that she organized in July of 1965.
