many), the Korean War, reports on Lowell Thomas���s visit to Tibet, on Lawrence of Arabia, and on the Battle for Malta in World War II. As time passed, my interest in these subjects grew. I devoted time to fair, inclusive politics, Hillary���s fellow summiter, Tenzing Norgay, guided me to their Everest base camp; I journeyed to Nepal and Ladakh, ���Little Tibet,��� I visited Malta numerous times, I gave a speech to Korean-American leaders on behalf of an American presidential candidate, I traveled to several areas of the Middle East, spoke to Lowell Thomas and to Pasha Glubb about Lawrence of Arabia. But I never met or interacted directly in any way with the splendid young lady in the Coronation robes. S everal years ago I created a series of seven photographs, which I call the Transformation series. They depict remarkable aesthetic change in an individual, one reflecting, from my point of view, a spiritual journey. This experience led me to appreciate more the work of Bill Armstrong, the American abstract figurative and nonfigurative photographer. I acquired my first work by him years ago. Armstrong���s work was chosen as the jacket image for the first ever comprehensive book on the history of abstract photography. It is a substantial accolade as the book is published by none other than the revered HYLAND
