Cilia���s book could very well literally be our beloved Gozo,
certainly a cousin. Daniel Cilia���s art is intelligible to me in
a deeply personal way.
Lapidary moments abound on Gozo. Village festas, an
opera season, a music festival, pantomimes, trotting
and track races, crafts of every kind, art exhibitions,
fine dining, agriculture from oranges to tomatoes, a
Mardi Gras, fishing, boating, swimming, scuba diving,
walking characterize the island. There is no golf course,
shopping mall, theme park, entertainment complex of
HYLAND
