Embracing the Outcasts
God, You reached out to the lepers and healed them;
Help us to embrace the outcasts of our society.
You socialized with the tax-collectors and sinners;
Show us how to break down the barriers that divide us.
You talked with the Samaritan woman and healed
the child of the Canaanite woman;
May we learn how to cross the thresholds of prejudice.
You fed the hungry by giving them bread of wheat
and the bread of your body;
Teach us how to feed each other.
You had compassion on the poor and the suffering;
May we see You in the street people, the destitute and the
hopeless.
