More than anything, to visit the highest section of Fort San Angelo, now occupied by the Order of Malta as a result of all of our efforts and perfectly restored by the Order, was a thrilling experience. An engaging Fra��� John Critien, Knight Resident at Fort San Angelo, received my friends and me with great hospitality on two occasions during my visit. He is thoughtful, encouraging and had interesting insight and suggestions. On one seminal occasion, thoughtfully responding to my request, Fra��� Critien graciously invited Father Krystof Buttigieg and Canon John Muscat to celebrate Mass in Fort San Angelo���s historic Saint Anne���s Chapel. Seminarian Stanley Portelli assisted in organizing the event, which was accompanied by a distinguished music program. Salesian Father Charles Cini, a publisher and a member of the Constantinian Order of St. George, also participated. His numerous books on Malta and the Order are among the finest of their genre.
