strategy for tourism marketing which has been adopted in recent
years by the National Tourism Organization will be intensified
in light of the declared objectives to increase the number of
tourist arrivals, further diversify sources of tourist traffic and
attract higher-income tourists. These marketing campaigns
will be directed towards specific target areas and groups on the
basis of market information and international travel trends.���
(pp. 34-35). Minister Grima who gave me this book made it
very clear that Malta needed more profitable tourism to sustain
the services provided to foreign visitors, sustain and expand
the infrastructure and provide jobs and viable businesses. This
pragmatic aspect of the project significantly motivated Prime
Minister Mifsud Bonnici and Minister Joe Grima.
