Plaque commemorating the First Lady���s innauguration of the hall and the donation of Christopher Hyland, Inc. textiles and trimmings. the room, sat to my right. I was very pleased that a brass plaque commemorated the First Lady���s inauguration of the room, as well as Christopher Hyland Inc.���s contribution towards making it possible. The Chinese ambassador, His Excellency Cai Jinbiao, had a pair of the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen; I asked for the address of their maker. It was good to see my friends the Ray Millers, and the Samuel Buttigiegs. Former First Lady Violet DeMarco provided interesting commentary. I particularly enjoyed meeting Anthony Spagnol whose task, for Heritage Malta, was to restore the vast paintings in the room depicting images of Grand Masters of the Order of Malta, former rulers of the island. Joseph Gatt, Master Gilder, who made the Hall glow, and his wife, looked every bit an ambassadorial couple. At the end of the concert, I was pleased to be able to deliver a personal invitation from Dr. Hans Courtial to Maria Abela Manconi to perform in the prestigious World Sacred Music Festival in Rome.
