Soane,
whose
famous
triple
house at Lincoln���s
Inn Fields, today
the
Soane
Museum, is an
inspiration
for
students of the
Grand Tour and of
archeology as well
as of architecture.
Architects Fairfax & Sammons have created, on Park Avenue,
an homage to Soane for an exceptionally cultivated couple
who collect rare books, Regency furniture and neo-classical
art works.
The architects worked closely with interior designers, Mlinaric,
Henry and Zervudachi. Although nominally the architects��� task
was to reconfigure the architectural shell, in this case, that mere
shell became a magnificent Soanian carapace, one meshed
perfectly with Mlinaric���s and Henry���s flawless decoration:
