the service entrance, which was the initial intention for the main
entrance. After working with the clients and the architect from the
beginning, it wasnt until the foundation was well established that I
suggested that the new entrance should be through the garden and over
a wooden bridge spanning the spectacular, long rectangular reflecting
pool. At first the clients rejected the idea of a wooden bridge, but
it was when I suggested that the sounds would happily announce
visitors, rather than leaving the beauty to be seen and enjoyed later if
ever by the way of a determined stroll. Over the bridge and into the
courtyard was the ideal- and it worked!- and still does.
