During my visit to San Anton Palace with President Abela, I
offered to donate Christopher Hyland textiles and trimmings
for the restoration of the Grand Master���s Hall. The Office
of the President accepted, and this donation contributed in
part as a catalyst for the room���s restoration. A small plaque
commemorates the First Lady���s inauguration of the restored
room and the Hyland contribution. I visited San Anton Palace
for a long weekend in April 2012 as a guest of President and
Mrs. Abela, during which a concert by his daughter Maria
celebrated the event. The expertly rendered textile designs serve,
for me, as a commemoration of all the personalities in the
Malta Knights story and a thank you to the many wonderful
people I have met and the wonderful times I have in Malta.
