in arms reduction and
the
elimination
of
Soviet totalitarianism.
Indeed, not long after
these events, Malta was
a venue for meetings
between
paramount
Soviet and American
leaders addressing issues
during the momentous
geopolitical
changes
that took place in the
Reagan and first Bush
administrations. I sensed
all along that these
fresh attitudes and new
interests in Malta were a
precursor of what was to
come.
