sixth largest economy. Yet there is remains uncertainty in the global community whether Brazil possesses a serious fashion identity. You can't really blame anyone for thinking that way, can you? Not when you so often hear "I just packed my bathing suit" from those who are on their way south. Indeed, for many people outside the fashion industry, the chic in the "Chica Chica Boom Chic" performed by Carmen Miranda is still the strongest fashion image of a country so strongly represented by beach couture. Need I remind you of Havaianas? Like other large world cities, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo hold fashion weeks where local designers express their mood. I was delighted that black was back "again" and was very present in the collections shown in both cities during the Fall/ Winter 2012-2013 season. Designer Samuel Cirnansck sent models down the runway in HYLAND Backstage at Walter Rodriques, F/W 2012.
