E l Telar: Loom Tree, founded by an Italian who settled in Antigua, Guatemala, sells soft table-top, rugs and other decorative items in an elegant shop. Made on hand looms and hand finished, they are produced by exacting crafts people who are part of an extensive cottage industry which the firm's founder has nurtured. Table napkins, place mats, table runners, shades, hand towels, pillows, rugs, hammocks and numerous other goods are produced in natural colors appealing to an international clientele. They are appropriate for picnicking, yachting, beach houses, mountain retreats or urban domiciles with a stylish provincial bent, whether Hispanic, French or Italian. In a heartbeat I would include them in a house I rented on Patmos. One can also imagine these wares living well with certain Asian decorative schemes. HYLAND
