This quality is nowhere more evident than in the kitchen
and dining room, both permeated by a romantic sea
green. McCarthy has breathed a new liveliness and
friendliness into pure American style, which elsewhere
is often rather staid. At Mount Fair, the effect is anything
but, a stunningly fresh take on tradition. The dining room
is animated by a delicate Chinoiserie wallpaper, with a
ground of sea green and a mural- like scene of birds and
