chair seems like the seat of an ancient
Druid. Damask velvet is placed on the
outside of club chairs, comfortable
linen within. An outsized photograph
balances the mass of the fieldstone
fireplace at the same time it speaks
to the made world, the fireplace,
nature. Appropriately, a Renaissance
style chair is positioned at a Regency
table. This chair seems a metaphor
for the entire design scheme and
for an increasing tendency in many
quarters of the design community
to revisit diverse design styles with
an eye to integrate them with the
contemporary, a theme which this
house personifies.
These rooms, like all thoughtful
decorating, are deceptively simple. H
