ncharted territory, the wilderness, created an unmarked slate upon which nearly everybody (unfortunately,
odious slavery persisted and Native Americans suffered)
could exert their curiosity: artists, scientists, businessmen,
especially given the freedom that rang as a result of the
American Revolution. Scores of creative individuals in all
fields were unencumbered by the past, by the feudal bonds
of aristocratic Europe. In such environments, multifaceted
personalities emerged, encouraging multifaceted groups
to interact, resulting in an ever-improving society.
