to restore, enhance and expand the gardens in the early
twentieth century. The Baron���s descendants, Marquis
Jean-Louis de Ganay and Marquise Phillippine de Ganay continue to occupy the Chateau, enhancing and
safeguarding it for future generations. The Marquise is
known for her abiding taste and grace as a hostess.
Such is Courances��� fame that Field Marshal Montgomery
chose the Chateau as his residence from 1947 to 1954.
