One enters this Manhattan maison through a grand foyer,
its oak floor stenciled in large diamonds that look like
parquet, giving the hall the expansive air of a chateau.
The walls are stenciled in an exaggerated pomegranate
design. A long English sideboard from the 19th century is
surmounted by a round French gilt 18th century sunburst
mirror, flanked by two tall gilt bronze lamps with flared
pleated shades. The central chandelier is 19th century
and was found in the apartment. At the far end of the
hall on either side of the door to the living room are a
pair of Regency benches; Deco sconces flank the door.
