ew York is known for The Empire State Building
and the Statue of Liberty, but New Yorkers, Geoffrey
Bradfield among them, believe that the C��sar Pelli
designed One Beacon Court is a new Manhattan
landmark. This residential tower shares a spectacular
private motor court with the headquarters of Bloomberg
International. Glass walls follow the perimeter of the
oval courtyard and tilt slightly inward as they ascend,
affording a great sense of spaciousness overhead upon
arrival by car or foot.
Constructed in 2001 at the behest of Mayor Michael
Bloomberg, the building is 806 feet tall and occupies
an entire city block west of Third Avenue between 58th
