Perhaps no other city in the world has so many devoted
fans, especially those that call it their home. That she lives
her passion for New York through her camera in these
photographs allows others to revisit and to contemplate
theirs. Great photographs do that. They remind us of
what we love. Look at the book���s frontispiece portrait
of the Brooklyn Bridge. As a symbol of strength and
progress, it stands for all of us, black or white, American
or not. It is a monument to being human, and to witness
it is to feel its power and perhaps even to love it.
