the ability to imbue a sense of the sublime upon objects
and scenes.
Lott���s meticulous Rose Garden series depicts rolling petal
landscapes: vibrantly colored ground rises and peaks in
the light and just as quickly drops and returns to shaded
valleys. The sprawling shadows pique our curiousity about
what lays ahead in the darkness, replacing the easy sentimentality we might feel toward the subject with a greater
