New York must continue to be, now and always, a design incubator. Design generates jobs. Design generates commerce.
Design contributes to ensuring happiness at home, at work, at
play, at civic place and in the entertainment arts and spiritual
environments. A designed and designing New York ensures a
healthy America, a cosmopolitan America, and it affords the city
common cause with the world.
Oscar Wilde was right. At least, here in New York, we needed
structures; but that which is created in them must be of primary
importance, the moving force.

P.S. Natures darn important. Thank God New York City has one
of the largest masses of verdant forest outside of just about any
of the worlds greatest cities.
