Throughout history, buildings conducive to highlighting
the reflection of the sun within them at various points in
the calendar year have been constructed by communities
highlighting the importance of this central component to
nature, to life. This writer was impressed by a highly graphic
patch of light that covered an eye in Donald Baechler���s
Coney Island, which depicts a striking oval head with
two round black eyes, the whole set against a pink field.
Upon close examination the reflection consisted of the
window wall of a distant building. The light causing this
reflection travels hundreds and hundreds of feet, through
a bedroom and down a long hall before it finally claims its
