The hallway, with its misty, silvery mural of
boats in a harbor recalls Whistler, who was
himself a consummate decorator. Crystal
lamps with intricately pleated shades, atop
a massive Regency cabinet, illuminate the
mural and an early 20th century bronze on
a pedestal. Here, as throughout the apartment, the doorways and ceilings are bordered with boldly grooved molding.
Botero decorates as well as designs, a
master of the art of ameublement, whether
delicate or robust. H
