irds and monkeys from the artist Hunt Slonem���s
studio menagerie adorn the bamboo and rafia walls of this
Samuel Botero designed office, located in a townhouse
on Manhattan���s Upper East Side. This project, inspired
and influenced by owner Peter Tunney, provides both
tactile and visual delight. The rug, designed by Botero,
depicts the shadow of an imagined plane as it flies above
a forest floor. A smattering of elephant bones lie alongside
that shadow, around which a carefully curated selection
of chairs from Indonesia, the Philipines, and Africa are
arranged. Few spaces exhibit with such clarity the quality
of a dream. Fewer still manage to strike a thoughtful
