The morning of our departure from Santorini we dropped anchor near a cove on one of the small islands in the center of
the great cauldron. There we enjoyed a serene breakfast with
not a person in sight save a solitary fisherman in his small indigo vessel.
Following a visit with acquaintances who were cruising on
one of the great Italian-built Provini Navi mega-sailing yachts,
we cruised beneath the cliffs in a slow steady progress, as if we
were reviewing the fleet. Then, falling to the windward of the
island, we made for seldom-visited Anafi.
